Trekking with Ararat Tours
Tour overview
There are many ways to trek Mt. Ararat, but the most popular is our 7-day tour, which ensures a confident and fun program. Here’s what it looks like in a nutshell:
Day 1 • Arrival day and pickup from airport. Hotel accomodation included.
Day 2 • Trekking to Mount Ararat base camp (3200 meters)
Day 3 • Acclimatization hike to camp 2 and back to basecamp
Day 4 • Trekking to camp 2 (4200 meters)
Day 5 • Trekking to summit (5137 meters) and descending to basecamp
Day 6 • Descending to the foot of the mountain. Relaxing cultural tour. Return to hotel.
Day 7 • Farewell day. Transport to airport.

7 DAY / 6 NIGHT TRIP OVERVIEW
Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Welcoming day
We will pick you up from one of 3 nearby airports: Van, Ağrı or Iğdır, and transfer you to our beautiful hotel near Mount Ararat, where you will stay the night.
Accomodation: Parasut Hotel
Day 2: Hiking to Mount Ararat base camp
In the morning we drive to the foot of Mount Ararat 2200 meters above sea level. We then start the first day of hiking. Horses will carry the heavy backpacks, so you only need to carry a day pack with water and the provided packed lunch. We arrive at our campsite in base camp at an altitude of 3200 meters after four or six hours of walking. Here we eat a hot dinner and rest.

Day 3: Adaptation to the altitude
After breakfast, start hiking at 09:00 a.m. Arriving at the second campsite at an altitude of 4200 meters after four or six hours hiking. After a short rest and enjoying the magnificent view we return to base camp (3200 m) for a hot meal and enjoying camp life.

Day 4: Trek to camp 2
Having breakfast and setting out at 9:00 a.m for the second campsite. Arriving and camping at the second campsite after four or five hours of hiking. Resting and eating dinner and going to bed early.
Accomodation: Tents in camp 2 (4200 meters)
Day 5: Mount Ararat summit
We set out for the Ararat summit at 2:30 a.m. to get to the summit at sunset. The trek is about five to six hours to reach 5.137 meters. Here we take pictures and set off for the second campsite at an altitude of 4200 meters. After having a rest for an hour, we set out for the base camp at 3200 meters and camp there for a night.

Day 6: Descent and cultural experience
Descending to the starting point and being driven to our hotel. Going to the Doğubayazıt culture tour visiting the Ishak Pasha Palace in the afternoon having dinner with a great view after the tour and coming back to the hotel.

Day 7: Farewell day
This is our last day together. We will take you to any of the 3 airports and make sure you get onward safe and sound. We can also help you explore other nearby regions or arrange more treks or cultural tours in the region, or you can extend your stay at our hotel and take it easy.
Ararat will be waiting for your return.
